Mary Ellen Mueller The Artist

My art education included a summer of studying art history and drawing in Florence Italy. It was this privileged experience that planted the seed for my love of etchings and architectural drawings.

HAND COLORED ETCHINGS

Drawn to the detail of etchings, I have been comfortable exploring the printmaking medium for the past twenty-five years. Favorite topics include wildflowers, Celtic religious themes, national and international landmarks, and a variety of fish and animal species. All have appealed to a wide audience of art collectors throughout the United States and abroad.

MONOPRINTS

Beginning in 2000, I expanded my printmaking experience to include monoprints as a student of Paul Yank of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. I enjoy the spontaneity of the process and the surprise effects achieved from this intricate medium. Knowing that many of the impressionists worked with monoprints, I am experimenting in a variety of new topical areas influenced particularly by travels to Ireland and Europe. Bold contrast and color are evident in my Palace of Versailles Garden Urns.

ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS

I welcome commissions of architectural drawings of churches, buildings, and homes.

All of the artwork is individually matted and framed by me using acid free, museum quality materials for preservation.

All of my work is produced by me with no assistants or apprentices.
