Mary Ellen Mueller The Artist

My art education included a summer of studying art history and drawing in Florence Italy. It was this privileged experience that planted the seed for my love of etchings and architectural drawings.

Drawn to the detail of etchings, I have been comfortable exploring the printmaking medium for the past twenty-five years. Favorite topics include wildflowers, Celtic religious themes, national and international landmarks, and a variety of fish and animal species. All have appealed to a wide audience of art collectors throughout the United States and abroad.

Beginning in 2000, I expanded my printmaking experience to include monoprints as a student of Paul Yank of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. I enjoy the spontaneity of the process and the surprise effects achieved from this intricate medium. Knowing that many of the impressionists worked with monoprints, I am experimenting in a variety of new topical areas influenced particularly by travels to Ireland and Europe. Bold contrast and color are evident in my Palace of Versailles Garden Urns.

I welcome commissions of architectural drawings of churches, buildings, and homes.

All of the artwork is individually matted and framed by me using acid free, museum quality materials for preservation.

All of my work is produced by me with no assistants or apprentices.

    Hi Mary Ellen,

I think you are the person who has done several house drawings for me over the years. We first met you at the Lake Forest, Il., art show and have had you do house drawings of homes we have owned, and there have been several, our parent’s homes and our children’s. Our son and daughter-in-law have purchased their first home and I would love to commission a drawing for them as a Christmas gift. I look forward to communicating with you.

    Thank you,
    Lynn McNally

Thank you so much for your response. I am in Colorado at the moment spending the holidays with my family and will be back in South Carolina by the end of the week. Please let me know what you will need to do the home and I will put it all together and get it to you. My son will be delighted with the drawing of his home — it will be his Christmas present for next year! Hope you are well and again thank you for agreeing to do yet another house drawing for us.

    Thank you,
